Additional information
This November, The Grove, Luddite Folk Collective and Folkroom Records present a very special show hosted by Daniel Kittmer, offering an alternative view of remembrance.
Reframing Remembrance looks at the way the first and second world wars impacted lives across the globe, disrupting national identities, devastating communities and changing the very meaning of citizenship. Kittmer's revelatory show is a thoughtful response both to the unparalleled losses brought about by these conflicts and to the ways that nations have grieved for over a century since. Told through gorgeously presented folk songs, traditional and contemporary, Reframing Remembrance offers an opportunity to consider our personal responses to remembrance in a time when the very concept has been co-opted and skewed by nationalistic and far-right leaning groups.
Join us on the 10th November for a reflective evening of folk music and stories, and a chance to reconnect with what we mean when we tell ourselves we'll 'never forget'.
Daniel Kittmer will be performing alongside members of the Luddite Folk Collective.
We are offering standard tickets at an affordable price of £5 for this event, but those who feel able to pay more are encouraged to buy a Higher Earner ticket, with profits from the event being donated to related charities.
