Mark Rolfe is a composer and produced based in Nottingham, UK. His work draws on a rich and eclectic musical life, shaped by a deep affinity for both natural and sonic sound worlds, and grounded in traditional techniques alongside influences from popular and folk traditions. Mark is inspired by everything from Arvo Pärt to The Aphex Twin and Sonic Youth to Aaron Copland. His main musical muse for over 30 years has been Brian Wilson, a love that grows deeper each day.
A versatile multi-instrumentalist and guitarist by trade, Mark is also an active cellist, clarinettist, pianist, percussionist and sound engineer. Working from his fully equipped home studio, he creates emotionally resonant soundscapes defined by expansive musical spaces, layered textures, and quietly haunting melodic sounds.
Mark first gained critical recognition as the principal songwriter and producer for the dreampop band Lorna (Words on Music), a project he continues to be involved with more than 25 years on. Highlights from this period include European and transatlantic performances, seven full-length albums, and appearances at numerous festival appearances alongside the likes of Mark Gardner (Ride), Echo and The Bunnymen and The Wedding Present.
Recent work includes an album of original, textural compositions inspired by the natural beauty of the Isle of Wight, reflecting an ongoing interest in place, landscape, and environment as musical catalysts. Drawing comparisons to Philip Glass, Julianna Barfield and Sufjan Stevens, the album was received to great critical acclaim followed by a series of live dates this summer, the final of those being this show.

At heart Huw Costin is a singer-songwriter inspired by the greats - Roy Harper, John Martyn, Lucinda Williams & Joni Mitchell, but with a bent for sonic experimentation and a wilful acceptance of a promiscuous muse.
He's recorded with Mark Lanegan, E.R. Thorpe, Michael Chapman, Andre Lodemann, Stubb, Smith & Mudd and BJ Smith, and has recorded for the NuNorthern Soul, Cwm Saerbren, Claremont 56, Bestworks, & Paper Recordings. He's also a member of the JIM touring band. His main focus in recent years has been his bands - Torn Sail, who's most recent album 'Steady Weather' was listed as a best of the year by Disco Pogo magazine, and The Low Drift, who's eponymous album was described as "...an album of outstanding musical sentiment and beauty.” - by Penny Black Music.
