At the core of Melbourne’s burgeoning instrumental soul scene, Karate Boogaloo have been playing funk together since their playground days.
Since first emulating their heroes such as Booker T & The MG’s and The Meters, they have gone on to distil their own cinematic sound, whilst respecting the history of instrumental funk and soul music.
Tied together by their characteristic sense of goofy humour and almost 20 years of rich music lessons, the band share the type of musical language that can only be built through countless hours as friends and musical allies.
