First Gigs x Mini Mercury Showcase
With the Mercury Prize returning to Newcastle this October, there feels like no better time to shine a spotlight on the next generation of young artists and musicians in the North East.
The First Gigs x Mini Mercury Showcase offers aspiring young musicians the chance to step onto The Grove’s stage and experience a professional live show in a 330-capacity venue, from pre-show preparation and technical advancing through to soundcheck and live performance.
Three selected artists, aged 12 to 18, will perform in this matinee showcase as part of the Mercury Prize Fringe, gaining hands-on experience alongside venue staff and sound engineers.
