Brazil's newly risen star, Filipe Catto breathes new life into the foundational music of Gal Costa.

Considered one of the greatest voices in Brazilian contemporary music, Filipe has sung with icons such as Maria Bethânia, Marina Lima, and Ney Matogrosso.

In her most recent work, Belezas São Coisas Acesas Por Dentro, Catto reinvents songs from the repertoire of Gal Costa, with whom she shares the same birth date – September 26th. With vulnerability, Catto interprets the songs of the Bahian singer to translate her experiences as a non-binary trans person living in one of Latin America’s biggest cities, São Paulo.

Well received by the public and music critics, the album brings together unforgettable tracks such as “Vaca Profana”, “Tigresa”,“Nada Mais”,“Vapor Barato” and more.

The record's accolades include listing in the top 50 best albums of 2023 according to APCA (Brazilian association of art critics), winning the Arcanjo Culture Award in the music category, listing in the top 10 shows of the 2023 edition of Primavera Sound São Paulo by O Globo and Estadão ( two of the most respected national newspapers), and also topping the list of best-selling albums on iTunes Brazil within the first 24 hours of its release.
