Formed in Liverpool in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most celebrated guitar bands of their generation, The La’s and Shack, Cast emerged as one of the defining acts of the Britpop era. Fronted by songwriter John Power, the band enjoyed immediate success with their debut album All Change, which became Polydor Records’ biggest-selling debut album at the time and remains one of the era’s landmark releases.

Cast went on to release four studio albums during their original run, including the platinum-selling Mother Nature Calls, achieving ten UK Top 10 singles and three Top 10 albums before disbanding in 2001. Their catalogue established them as one of Britain's most enduring guitar bands, renowned for Power’s distinctive songwriting, uplifting melodies and timeless anthems.
Following the band's split, John Power released three acclaimed solo albums and performed intermittently with the reformed La’s before Cast reunited in 2010. Since then, the band have enjoyed a sustained creative resurgence, reconnecting with their devoted fanbase while continuing to attract new audiences through a series of acclaimed live performances and new recordings.

Now entering a new chapter, Cast will released their latest UK Top 10 album, Yeah Yeah Yeah, on January 30th 2026. Produced by Youth (The Verve, Pink Floyd, Primal Scream) and recorded at his Space Mountain studio in Spain, the album captures the band at their most liberated, adventurous and inspired. Traversing Cast’s trademark blend of anthemic songwriting, wistful melancholy and melodic immediacy, the record expands their sound with elements of gospel, psychedelia, funk, acoustic intimacy and powerful rock ‘n’ roll.

The release follows a landmark period for the band. Having joined Oasis on their historic UK and Ireland stadium dates throughout 2025 and embarked upon an extensive headline tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of All Change, Cast continue to demonstrate their enduring relevance and vitality. More than three decades after their formation, they remain one of Britain's most beloved and influential guitar bands, still creating music with the same spirit, conviction and sense of possibility that first propelled them to prominence
